Alpha Course

If you have questions about Christianity, are a new Christian or just want to explore the meaning of life, we would like to invite you to join an Alpha course with us.

Our main Alpha course starts each September. Each of the 12 weekly sessions begins with a meal, which provides an opportunity to get to know others on the course. There is a talk, live or on a DVD, looking at different aspects of the Christian faith - including, for example, "Who is Jesus?" and "Why and how do we pray?". Time for discussion in small groups follows, where everyone is welcome to contribute their opinion and ask questions. No one is obliged to speak! The emphasis is on exploration and discovery in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

There is no course fee.

If you are interested, need more information or know of anyone who would like to come along, please speak to Keith, John and Margaret Mitchell (0131 663 2557) or Heather Cartledge (0131 660 1859).

Marriage Course

Every couple who marries hopes for a love that will last. Yet in the 21st century, the pressures on relationships is greater than ever. We use a DVD by Rob Parsons to help build a lasting relationship - with a helpful hints booklet full of tips, discussion starters and ideas for action. You can use this course to help strengthen your marriage - and other people's marriages too. It is run in the manse, with tea and buns. We watch the DVD, then couples go away by themselves to chat through the questions and issues raised.

For further information please contact either
Keith or Donna.

Parenting Course

We use the 21st Century Parenting course from Care for the Family. The course runs in our house over 4 Monday evenings, usually in March. We watch a DVD and discuss, over cups of coffee, topics such as the 'challenging child', 'setting the boundaries' and 'teenagers'.

For more information, please contact Nick or Heather Cartledge on 0131 660 1859.
